This is for my daughter who will be traveling with a child and a small dog along with luggage on the 4th of July leaving around 3:00 am. Indianapolis - 3 Answers

that'd be by foot.

Bus from Cincinnati? Greyhound is about $25 for an adult one-way, plus cab to the airport. Amtrak doesn't run on the 4th.

I would recommend a car with good gas mileage. Just take 75N to 74W. It will take about 1hr 45min, but at that time it might take even less. I lived in Alexandria a few years ago and made this trip many-a-time... its, honestly, the most cost-effective. If you don't have a car with good gas mileage, I would recommend going through a rental agency for one... most of the times its $9.99 on the weekends (and you can sometimes find good deals if you search online). Hope she has a safe journey!
