About How would i travel from East 38th Street to East 96th street by bus in Indianapolis

How would i travel from East 38th Street to East 96th street by bus in Indianapolis?
I have never used public transportation and a friend of mine no longer has a car. He is working at a store on 96th street and lives on 38th and Mitthoeffer. I obviously cannot travel back and forth to get him there and back home because gas is not cheap and my car isn't in great shape. Does anybody know a route from east 38th and mitthoeffer to east 96th and Hague Road? Thanks

IndyGo does not have service in the area where your friend works. The closest bus stop is 96th St and Masters Rd, on route 19, which operates two trips from there early in the morning, and two trips going there in the late afternoon. Regular route 19 service goes only as far north as Castleton Square before turning back south to 75th/Shadeland. To get there, take route 39 to 38th/Washington, then route 19.
2 :
I-70 to I 465 north. Exit at the castleton exit turn left.

We want to travel from indianapolis to west burke,VT by a train or bus. How do we get to Vt with this type of travel and we really dont want to drive ourselves. Would like to see the country instead of buildings and cement. I looked on the the amtrack site and they dont have this travel. Like to go one way going and another way coming home. any sugguestions.

I think the best way to travel is by driving your self. You don't have to take all of the highways you can drive on the back roads. But that is only my opinion and I would never travel by bus or train again. because when I travel I like to be able to stop where and when I want to. But any way, good luck on trying to find info on trains and buses.
2 :
Amtrack does not cover northeast Vermont, the closest they go to West Burke (population 353) is either White River Jct, VT or Littleton, NH. Both are at least a 1 hour car ride away. While West Burke is on the line between St Johnsbury & Montreal, passinger service ended quite a few years ago. The only rail service l can find is a fall folliage tour, out of St Johnsbury, in Sept/Oct only, & its doesn't stop in West Burke, it only passes through it. Just a thought, if your intent is to go to this town, considering how small it is, try "googling" the Burke Mt Ski Area & find an e-mail link, & ask about public transportation into the area.

About what is the cheapest way of travel round trip from Chicago to Indianapolis

What is the cheapest way of travel round trip from Chicago to Indianapolis?
I am planning on visiting my cousin in Indy from Friday the 12th to Sunday or Monday the 14 or 15. What is the cheapest. Can't Drive!

1 :
Drive...it is only a 3 hour 15 minute to 3 hour 45 minute drive, and the weather this weekend is supposed to be sunny, so the weather shouldn't add time to the drive... If you are coming from the burbs, take I-355 south, to I-80 east, to I-65 south to avoid I-90/1-94 mess on a Friday.
2 :
amtrak or greyhound.
3 :
The options are renting a car and driving, which will be the quickest and most convenient for you and will probably be competitive as far as cost goes. Otherwise you would need to fly or take the train and both of those options would take longer to get there and you'd be at the mercy of their schedules. It's not a bad drive.
4 :
Well you can have a look at this site, who provides cheap tickets and stuff like that .
5 :
This is a very cheap site
6 :
Megabus! I have used this many times and I love it. It's inexpensive, clean, and on-time. It picks you up in Indy near the city/county building (on Washington St.) and drops you off right in the heart of downtown Chicago at Union Station and only takes 3 to 3.5 hours. It is way cleaner, safer, and quicker than Greyhound. go to www.megabus.com -- sometimes you can get really cheap fare too. You just print off your confirmation page and show it to the driver.

what is the shortest distance to travel to indianapolis from india?

Well - your only option is by air. There is a VERY large body of water that separates India and Indianapolis. It's called an Ocean.
2 :
I'd say over the Pacific. If you go over the Atlantic, you have to go through Europe and Africa and the Middle East.
3 :
The shortest distance (in air travel) between the airports for Mumbai and Indianapolis is 13156.77 km, which is equivalent to 8175.25 miles. For Delhi, the distance is 12268.63 km , or 7623.39 miles. For other airports in India, see the Source. I hope you find this helpful.

About Cheap bus travel from downtown indianapolis to downtown Chicago

Cheap bus travel from downtown indianapolis to downtown Chicago?
Anyone know any for around 10 dollars per passenger?
Chicago - 2 Answers

1 :
http://megabus.com/us/ The earlier you buy your ticket, the cheaper it is -- as low as $1.00
2 :
The above response is correct, but you have to order at least four months in advance to get the $1 ticket from Megabus. For instance, you have to book travel for November to get a ticket for $1 and even then, the cheapest return ticket is $8. Still, it's a good deal. If you plan on traveling sooner than NOvember, expect to pay anywhere from $8 to $28 one way.

About Detroit or Indianapolis, better to travel

Detroit or Indianapolis, better to travel?
I am going to travel Chicago and planning to travel also Detroit or Indianapolis for 2 or 3 days. but i am not sure which city will be better to travel. we are young couples in twenties, please help me where to travel, and tell me nice attractions there if you have been.! thank you so much!

Don't listen to Carlos for he is an idiot. If you go to Detroit, the best place to go is downtown. There isn't much i can tell you about Indianapolis, i have driven past that place.
2 :
Both are great towns and both have a lot to offer. The downtown in Indy is much nicer and the nuclear blast style blight in Detroit neighborhoods is not on the same scale in Indy, so if I were to give a recommendation on a place to live, I'd say Indy. Hands down. Nice people, clean, hard working corn fed folk. But for a visit. ya gotta go to the Motor City. Just for one second imagine the conversations you'll have at work or at a party. "Coming back from Chicago we stopped in Detroit." "Coming back from Chicago we stopped in Indianapolis." What would your friends more likely respond to? "Oh I hear the corn is lovely this time of year ..." Jeeze, pleeze ... ya gotta hit Hitsville, Greenfield VIllage, heck the art Museum will really surprise you. Even downtown is fun if you want to see a big league baseball game of a show at the Fox Theater. All fab, funky and oh so fine.
3 :
Go to Detroit and then to Comerica. ;)
4 :
http://www.visitdetroit.com/ I don't know about Indi, but I've spent my life in the Detroit area, and we have a ton of attractions. The Institute of Arts is absolutely world class and has just reopened after a renovation. It is amazing! Downtown, there are many other museums that are fabulous, several casinos, music every weekend in Hart Plaza, baseball at tiger stadium, shows at several theaters, the orchestra. Outside Detroit, the Henry Ford and Greenfield Village are cool as well as the Ford Rouge Plant tour. North of the city, the Zoo is great. For partying, there are clubs all over, and the casinos have fabulous restaurants and clubs! Check out the visitors site below! We may be ugly as heck (nuclear blast like) but we are a pretty darn cool city. If you are in to cars, then the dream cruise weekend is a must. It is Aug. 15-18th.
5 :
Go to Indianapolis's first, and then check out Detroit, Indianapolis is on the way to Detroit. http://answers.yahoo.com/my/my;_ylt=AurnSPE3FbjZVqTD3Er0ZatQ7hR.;_ylv=3

By train (and an Amtrak-connected bus) you'd have to go to Chicago first and then get a bus to Cincinnati. The total cost buying through Amtrak is at least $113 US one way, and it would take a day and a half. With a bed it would cost more. A better choice might be to take VIA to Windsor ($65 minimum if you buy ahead), a taxi across the border to Detroit ($15 or so), and then a Greyhound bus ($31 US minimum). You could probably get there in one day if you leave early. Or buses the whole way -- various connections take between 13 and 25 hours. Cost - about $100 one way.

About Tank Johnson being allowed to travel to Indianapolis for the Super Bowl

Tank Johnson being allowed to travel to Indianapolis for the Super Bowl?
Does anyone else see anything wrong with this? "Cook County Judge John Moran granted a defense request Tuesday to allow Johnson to leave the state as he awaits trial on gun possession charges." If this was a regular Joe (That did not have the luxury of a good\expensive lawyer) this would have never happened. In my opinion he should not be allowed to travel since it is illegal to leave the state or they should have lobbied to have the trial before the playoffs. If you commited or are suspected of a crime you should have to pay consequences LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. I know its an opportunity of a lifetime for any young football player. But it should not excuse him from his legal responsibilities and obligations. Any thoughts on this?

Maybe the judge has money on the da Bears.
2 :
INNOCENT UNTIL PROVED GUILTY. HE'S NOT GUILTY OF ANYTHING UNTIL A JURY SAYS SO. SINCE THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED I DON'T SEE A PROBLEM WITH HIM GETTING PERMISSION TO GO ANYWHERE. YOU SEEM TO WANT TO EXECUTE THE GUY AND HE HASN'T EVEN HAD HIS DAY IN COURT. TAKE IT EASY.
3 :
When there are work-related reasons for travel, it is sometimes allowed. And it would be granted to anyone who could present a valid reason to the court. Having said that, I agree that in my opinion, he should not be allowed to leave the state. I am pretty sure I would not be. Trouble is humans are judges. They make mistakes.
4 :
Tank Johnson is accused of a misdemeanor gun violation. Anyone with a lawyer; probably even a public defender can be allowed to travel out of state on business when charged with a mere misdemeanor. Besides remember the old fashioned notion of being innocent before proven guilty. I believe that in many cases that the rich and famous get special treatment but I do not believe this is a case. The crime he is charged with is would not be a crime in Texas/ Oklahoma or any other state that follows the second amendment. The big focus should be on why is a free man being charged with merely possessing a handgun.
5 :
I agree. There is no way atheletes and hollywood people should get special treatment. If there is sufficient evidence to hold him, then being in the superbowl should have no impact!!!!! He should of thought about the consequences before he committed the crime! (Or put himself in the situation to make the police believe so)
6 :
First off - the Super Bowl is in Miami so he is traveling from Indianapolis not "to" Indianapolis. He is awaiting trial which means he has been charged, but not yet tried. Everyone deserves their day in court before being condemned. Suppose the judge says no you can't go, and then he is found innocent? He was then punished for a crime that he was not found guilty of. I do not think that celebs or athletes deserve special rights, but I think allowing a person charged with a misdemeanor the means to continue to earn his living (including traveling on business) is his right until the point that he becomes convicted. Like someone said - anyone with a lawyer could have gotten this allowed. Besides the man is going to the Super Bowl - not like he could be "making that one up" just to get to go to Miami!

About what are some ways to travel to Indianapolis IN, from Chicago

What are some ways to travel to Indianapolis IN, from Chicago?
I live on the northside of Chicago and I want to travel to a place called The Vogue in Indianapolis, I already went on Mapquest.com but I was wondering, are there more convenient ways of traveling to Indianapolis and if I do decide to drive can I just take a highway straight there without all of those exits that Mapquest posted??

take your favorite route thru chicago and get on I65 to indy. about the only way
2 :
I have family in Indy and this is the way I do it... If traffic is good I just take 90/94 East to the Skyway, then the Skyway to 65 South all the way to Indy. If traffic is bad I take Lake Shore Drive all the way south, cut over Stoney Island and jump on the Skyway at 79th Street: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=US-41+S&daddr=41.774448,-87.584295+to:I-70+W&hl=en&geocode=FTD4fQIds4DH-g%3B%3BFRyXXgId-Fzd-g&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=1&sz=14&via=1&sll=41.780145,-87.573566&sspn=0.033794,0.054932&ie=UTF8&ll=41.780145,-87.573566&spn=0.067589,0.109863&z=13 From the North Side those are your best two routes. **Unless you have access to a car (not a rental) in Indy you should definitely drive. No cabs in Indy. If you have friends out there, you can look into Megabus or Greyhound.
3 :
take I 65 S all the way there
4 :
I used to live in Skokie and this is the best way to go: I-94 East to I-65 South to Indianapolis. Exit 86th St. East and turn right on College Ave. Drive about 2-1/2 miles and the Vogue is on the east side of College Ave. right after Broad Ripple Ave. (looks like an old movie theatre marquee, almost catty-corner to a CVS).

I would say the best way to travel would be to take a taxi or rent a car if you would like to spend some money
2 :
Try to contact Stretch Limousine, Inc in Chicago. They have very reliable service between Chicago O'hara airport and Indianapolis in a town car for up to 3 passengers. Also, you can request a child seat for $5. Make sure you setup up your limo pick-up time early. With 200 miles, the estimated travel time between Indianapolis, Indiana and Chicago O'Hare airport can range between 3.5-4.5 hrs (depending on traffic, weather conditions, and exact location), etc.
3 :
http://stretchlimochicago.com/indiana-specials/Indianapolis.htm Now they offer rides between Indy and Ohare for $329. Renting is good, if you don't mind the one way fee (Enterprise.com) they have the discount codes if you use google them. Last, depending on your qty of luggage and patience, you can use Greyhound.

Walk Skip Hop Crawl Roll As for me, I'd most likely rent a car or get a taxi. It's about 50 miles.
2 :
465 North to 65 North to Lafayette/West Lafayette and follow the signs to Purdue.
3 :
Lafayette is about an hour north of Indy. There may be a Indy to Lafayette shuttle. Otherwise a cab would be your best bet. Enjoy!

There is a shuttle that runs regularly from the Indy airport to the Purdue campus called Lafayette Limo. http://www.lafayettelimo.com/
